C6 Session 42 - Words & Energy
Who is in control of your emotions? Do this exercise with yourself or with someone else.
Follow directions; get a pen and paper
Part I
Relax your body from head to toe
Breath in and out for 10 seconds (4-5 deep breaths)
Visualize and remember a past experience that left you feeling; unloved, abandoned, disrespected, let down, stupid, or disappointed. Stay with those feelings for 5 sec.
Picture one or two words to describe your feelings. Notice how your body feels. Write the words down.
Part II
Continue exercise…RELAX YOUR BODY from head to toe…
Breath in and out for 10 seconds (4-5 deep breaths)
Think about an event from your past when you were validated, felt loved, safe, praised, respected, congratulated, accepted, felt joyful, got everything accomplished, and felt successful.
Smile and visualize that Wonderful Day for about 5 seconds.
Picture one or two words to describe your feelings. Notice how your body feels. Write the words down.
You just made yourself feel two very different ways according to what YOU CHOSE to think and focus on. Before any emotion comes a thought must come first. Pay attention to what YOU CHOOSE to think about and focus on.
Key Questions
WHAT did you discover?
WHERE do your thoughts come from?
WHY does the body react to other people's words?
WHEN someone tries to "remind" you or "share" negative words or thoughts with you what should you do?
HOW will you use the power of your mind to brighten your day?
Self-Reflection Points
You control your emotions must less your actions. Make a positive choice or a negative choice. Either way, it's YOUR CHOICE.
Try not to think about past events that put you in a bad space.
Pay attention to what you choose to listen to. Others' words can affect your body in turn your health.
The fact is yesterday you didn’t know what you know today. Today you are equipped with the skills you need to lead a positive and prosperous life. What will you choose to think about?
Remember to clean your mind daily by talking about all the things you are grateful for.
