Ways Triggers Work

Personalizing a situation – Self-blaming, all about me thinking.

Minimization of the positive – Thinking the best will never happen to you.

Maximization of the negative – Always thinking of the worst possible scenario.

Selective hearing – Only hearing the negative parts of a conversation.

All or nothing – No exception to a rule thinking.

Controlling – Think that if you can’t control everything will be ruined.

Overgeneralizing – Using past experiences to judge a current situation.

Assuming – Not taking time to find the facts before you react.
