Self-Reflection Points
Mental illness is usually identified by an extreme behavior uncontrolled or hard to control by a person for an extended period of time.
Other medical conditions, genetics, environment, sleep, drugs, diet, etc. can disrupt your mood and behaviors. Like physical illness, it’s a case-by-case situation and should be talked about with an experienced mental health professional.
Talking to an experienced mental health professional can help you to identify some issues that may have contributed to your mental health breakdown, ie; the death of a loved one, a major situation change, etc.
You know yourself best. If your mental health issues are due to a particular situation or if you've been suffering for as long as you can remember. Only you truly know what you're going through.
Make sure you are getting the proper time and attention from your doctor. You can always change your doctor if you are not comfortable with the level of care. Having more than one option is always best.
Keep in mind that any person can be diagnosed with one or more mental illnesses at any age, during any time in their life, no matter their family history.
Note: Mental Illness is a real and very serious illness. If you think that you or someone you know may be suffering and would like to get some help. Go to the nearest hospital or call 911 or the emergency number in your area. People a there waiting to help you.
